When Broken Spoon Cakes Went To Gloster

When I received an invitation to see the beautiful wedding venue that is Gloster House in Birr, Co. Offaly, I could not refuse. I had seen articles about this stunning building previously and was very excited to see it for myself.

Gloster House & Gardens is steeped in history with the main manor house dating from the early 1600's. So it is no wonder that the house is overflowing with period elegance and charm. Upon arrival the atmosphere is one of relaxation and you are instantly transported to a world of the stately grandeur and will be exclusively yours for your amazing day.

The impressive gardens open out to the right and create an impressive vista from the expansive terrace. Perfect for guests to enjoy a glass of bubbly in the sun.

It is the double height entrance hall with those amazing Georgian features that sets the tone for the property and will have your guests in awe, as well as the magnificent first floor gallery. The venue has been lovingly restored with partricular care shown to it's beautiful architectural features while, still creating an intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy your day.

Outside is the wonderfully relaxing treelined courtyard with seating area for your guests. Here you can enjoy the surrounds whilst listening to some Parisien cafe music just to add to the sophistication.

The reception room is intimate and is once again elegantly decorated with beautiful views over those fabulous gardens.

There are hints to the buildings history as a convent, none more prevalent than the recently decorated chapel. The ceiling and the space itself are very impressive and would be fabulous for the all important ceremony.

All six bedrooms are bursting with character and furnished with, what has to be said, are amazing beds that enhance the character and feel of the venue. The rooms have all modern conveniences so you definitely do not need to compromise on comfort.

The gardens themselves are wonderful to stroll around and are crowned with the Arch, the folly of the estate. I can only say that Gloster House & Gardens is a photographers dream and this means amazing photographs for capturing those moments of your magical day.
